It all began when I was 11 years old and I rode my friend Alex\u2019s Suzuki TS 100 motorbike around a track we mowed in the field at the bottom of my garden. He\u2019s a family friend, 3 years older than me and his bike was far too heavy for my small frame, so I had to have Alex on hand whenever I came to a stop so as not to topple over and stall the thing (which happened far too regularly); but once I got going I loved the thrill of zipping around the track and fell in love with motorbikes.
My first bike was a bright red, rusty old Honda C90 otherwise known as a \u201cchicken chaser\u201d. While it was much easier to ride, as it was lighter and automatic, it wasn\u2019t quite the 250cc scrambler I had in mind, but I loved it. I also got into watching the British Superbikes and would go to the races when I could and was totally in awe of the riders and the bikes.<\/p>
It wasn\u2019t until much later that I took my CBT and re-ignited my passion for riding on the open road. As a short female I found it quite hard trying to find a suitable bike and gear so I wanted to document my findings to help other people, hence the start of the blog. I\u2019m still on my journey and aim to document taking my full test too and all the travels that me and my partner Rob hope to go on. I also discovered it was quite frustrating finding motorcycle lifestyle clothing for a women\u2019s fit, that wasn\u2019t pink or had the word \u2018girl\u2019 in the brand name.<\/p>

Fuelled by a desire to inspire and empower fellow riders, Hit the Road is more than just a brand; it's a lifestyle.
